Capella Technical Solutions, Inc. is seeking a passionate Technical Writer who possesses strong expertise in translating complex technical maritime concepts into clear, concise documentation and training materials. This role requires collaboration with stakeholders, meticulous editing, and the development of instructional and operational guidance for maritime operations. Roles and Responsibilities Content Consolidation & Standardization:
Synthesize disparate training materials, engineering manuals, and PowerPoint presentations from multiple vendors and government commands into a single, cohesive modular training package.
Instructional Formatting:
Assist in converting raw technical data into formal Navy/Joint lesson plans, Trainee Guides, and standardized instructor presentations. Produce and maintain manuals, technical documents, training guides, and policy documents. Edit and refine technical content, ensuring compliance with organizational style guides and readability standards. Evaluate existing communications and recommend improvements for clarity, consistency, and effectiveness. Ensure technical accuracy and completeness of all deliverables. Qualifications
TOP SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE WITH SCI ELIGIBILITY REQUIRED.
Experience with Department of War and/or Intelligence Community technical/educational programs highly desired. Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college/university in an engineering, scientific, business, or technical discipline; and: Three years of experience in: a) Collaborating with technical customers to understand and accurately document complex technical concepts; b) Editing and proofreading existing documentation for accuracy and readability; c) Providing analysis and recommendations for communications; d) Developing written products (e.g. informational materials, operating procedures, and policy) based on information provided by stakeholders. If a proposed individual does not meet both the desired education and experience qualifications, seven years of experience related to technical writing would be considered equivalent. Three of these seven years should demonstrate experience in "a" through "d". A minimum of 100 hours of curriculum development/training support experience is desired. A U.S. Navy Master Training Specialist certification or equivalent is desired. Experience working in the technology or defense sector is an advantage.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
