Description CeLeen, an operating firm of Command Holdings, is currently seeking a Junior Technical Writer to support the Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES) on Scott Air Force Base, IL. This position reviews content of technical documentation for quality and performs edits on technical materials, such as equipment manuals, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions as needed ensuring the documents follow the style laid out in the contract requirements. The Junior Technical Writer also delivers required CDRLs to the customer at appropriate times. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Tracking and scheduling timelines for the development teams. Modifying and publishing user manuals. Tracking documentation calendar within SharePoint. Cross checking and tagging all changing documentation for a build. Providing any out-of-cycle documents to the customer, troubleshooting documents, reviewing documentation for the GATES team. Providing documentation oversight that includes updating documents to required format, initializing reviews of project documents and quality checking all necessary documents. Performing edits on technical materials, such as equipment manuals, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions as needed. Ensuring documents follow the style laid out in contract requirements. Delivering required CDRLs to the customer at appropriate times. Providing front office support when needed which includes answering the phone or greeting individuals when receptionist is not available. Assisting in setting up and scheduling team meetings, memo preparation, and serving as a customer/client liaison. This position is contingent upon vacancy.
Anticipated salary range:
$48,000 - $60,000
Work Environment:
Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment). Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
Physical Demands:
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear. Employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer.
