Job Description
The Medical Writer I reports to the QA Advisor of Clinical Support. The role involves reviewing medical records and drafting medical narrative summaries and ensuring they are consistent with client expectations regarding accuracy, consistency with client protocol, and internal guidelines. The Medical Writer drafts medical narratives for Medicare Set Asides (MSAs), Medical Cost Projections, EMSAs and other products as required by the Services Department.
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with medical records or other medical background preferred
Experience in Medicare Aside industry preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Strong time management skills
Works well in team driven environment
Excellent technical skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Able to work independently, self-directed, and highly motivated

Review medical records and draft the MSA narrative in preparation for nurse review
Follow established narrative guidelines and recommend improvements for efficiency
Proofread narrative for spelling and grammatical accuracy
Communicate with Medical Analyst and Compliance Advisor on file as required
Meet daily/monthly production goals and client SLAs for due dates/TAT
