Technical Writer, Supervisory Job Description

The salary for this position is $80,161

Revise, redline, and write technical reports, manuals, publications, and drawings
Maintain version control of technical reports, manuals, publications, and drawings
Develop and update training curriculum to incorporate modernized replacements of obsolete C5ISR systems
Develop and update training curriculum to support 3D Scanning, Mixed Reality, or advanced manufacturing
Develops, writes and edits material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instructions books, catalogs and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance of machinery and other equipment
Acts as supervisor to other Technical Writers
Observes production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail
Interviews production and engineering personnel and reads journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods
Organizes material and completes writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
Reviews published materials and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of work and revisions
Edits material prepared by other writers or plant personnel
May specialize in writing material regarding work methods and procedures.

Required Skills and Experiences

Degree Requirements

Bachelor's level degree in any field
Must be a U.S. citizen
