We are working with our client, Don Selvy Enterprises to find their next highly skilled Technical Writer.About DSEDSE is a team of experienced professionals dedicated to engineering, training and program management to enable front-line soldiers, sailors and Marines to fully exploit the tactical capabilities of aviation and maritime platforms. Position SummaryDSE is seeking a Technical Writer to provide support to our PMA-280 customer. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality technical documentation with minimal guidance. The documentation must be cont, easy to follow, and comply with corresponding standards, style guides, and directives to meet customer and end-user needs. The ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding of the acquisition lifecycle, including Acquisition Plans (AP) and Acquisition Strategies (AS), and will be skilled in the formatting of briefs and presentations.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.
- Write and edit technical documentation for all of the project's hardware and software to include installation, configuration and how-to documentation.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications
- Gather technical information, prepare written text
- Maintain a current internal documentation library
- Utilize multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio etc.
- Prepare and maintain operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications
- Coordinate layout and design of documents to ensure a professional and consistent look and feel.
- Research highly technical subject matter, organize information from multiples sources, and express technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a wide audience of readers
- advanced concepts for technical writing based on engineering drawings, technical information from engineering documentation, consultations with engineers and subject matter experts, and other available sources
- Produce defense acquisition documentation, user manuals, training manuals, and other documentation utilized by the end-user community of DoD electronic equipment and systems
- Interpret engineering and maintenance drawings, operational procedures to understand and blend large quantities of computer related information
- Work independently preparing and maintaining highly complex systems, programming and operations documentation, procedures and methods
- Prepare and format high-level briefs for senior leadership and stakeholders.
Education and Experience:
- BA or BS degree and 3-10 years of experience as a Technical Writer in DoD Weapon Systems programs.
Must possess a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Starting salary range between $70,000 - $110,000 annually.
