The Role:
Orrick has an exciting opening for a West Coast Transactional Pitch Specialist. We are looking for someone ready to be challenged and build a career within an AmLaw Top 100 law firm known for delivering innovative solutions that integrate transactional, litigation and regulatory excellence. This hybrid position may be based in any of Orrick's West Coast U.S. offices (Los Angeles, Orange County, Portland, Sacramento, San Francisco, Santa Monica or Seattle), with consideration given for 100% remote U.S. locations. Candidates must be able to work U.S. West Coast business hours. What will I do? In this role, you will provide direct support to our Business Development team and lawyers in executing client-focused opportunity responses for our Energy & Infrastructure business unit, with additional support for our Finance business unit and occasional support across Corporate, Life Sciences and Litigation/Regulatory. You will be responsible for crafting tailored, persuasive proposals and pitch materials that differentiate the firm and position us to win new business. As an integral member of our Global Pitch Team, you will support the pitch lifecycle from initial intake to final submission. This role requires strong writing and organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities What responsibilities will you have? Lead and support pitch, proposal and RFP responses including drafting, editing and coordination in collaboration with lawyers and staff. Track the status of existing opportunity responses and manage opportunity data for assigned pitches, proposals and RFPs, including outcomes tracking. Regularly review and update business development content for assigned practice areas to ensure consistent branding and messaging in collaboration with practice marketing teams. Manage multiple proposals and pitch deck presentations simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, including occasional after-hours or weekend support. Participate in pitch and proposal debriefs to identify opportunities to improve content, strategy and process. Develop and own specific P&P functions, as assigned by the P&P Managers, to improve firmwide marketing and P&P processes, technology utilization and/or content. Qualifications Four-year degree in a writing-intensive field preferred; or equivalent work experience. Two to three years of experience in proposal, RFP, grant writing or pitch deck development. Law firm/professional services experience or demonstrated experience developing high-quality pursuit content in other industries is a plus. Strong writing skills with the ability to craft clear, persuasive and client-focused content. Writing samples will be required. Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills, with the ability to review complex information and distill key insights into coherent, structured messaging. Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate with stakeholders effectively. Excellent computer skills necessary; very high proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word with an ability to become proficient in the use of the following marketing systems and tools: InTapp ServiceNow, Foundation, Orrick's Portal, Orrick.ai, Orrick's Biography Tool, and other relevant firm systems. Compensation and Benefits The expected salary range for this position is: York City, Silicon Valley, and San Francisco $76,000- $112,000 Washington DC, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica, Sacramento, Boston, and Seattle $73,000
