Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking a Proposal Writer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key role in developing compelling proposals that win contracts and support the company's growth. You will help shape proposal strategies and messaging that differentiate Lakeshore in competitive environments. Your writing skills, attention to detail and strategic thinking will be essential in refining proposal drafts, ensuring compliance with requirements and developing clear, persuasive themes and risk mitigation strategies. The ideal candidate brings strong writing and collaboration skills, along with experience supporting complex proposal efforts.

A day on the job looks like this:

Thoroughly reviewing and interpreting bid requirements to develop customized responses that align with client needs and organizational capabilitiesPartnering with stakeholders across various departments to develop win strategies for specific opportunitiesScheduling and leading discovery sessions with sales and subject matter experts to draft new content and refine existing content in support of the sales strategy for a specified customerWriting new content and rewriting existing content to reflect the win strategy for a specific proposal, adhering to established writing standardsCrafting and refining sophisticated proposal responses and other communications that are compliant, persuasive and engagingEditing final responses for spelling, grammar, style, formatting, consistency, voice and overall clarityConsolidating information from multiple sources to ensure complete, accurate and cohesive bid responsesConveying complex ideas in a clear, logical sequence that is easily understood by multiple audiencesPartnering with stakeholders across departments to incorporate feedback and technical input into bid responsesCollaborating with the design team to create graphics and visuals for bid responses that can be templatized to enhance presentation and impactRegularly updating and curating proposal content to maintain high-quality reusable and templatized materialsTailoring writing to effectively reach the intended audienceQualificationsGot the skills and experience? Here's what we're looking for:

Strong understanding of the proposal development process with an ability to identify and apply strategic approachesExceptional writing, editing and analytical skills, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive and well-structured narrativesProven ability to manage complex projects with strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detailComfort working independently and collaboratively, with a thoughtful and creative approach to problem solvingProficiency in research methods, including effective use of digital research toolsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentFlexibility to adjust work schedules as needed to meet proposal deadlines, including occasional off-hours workProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), Adobe Acrobat Pro and TechSmith Snagit, with willingness to learn additional tools as required
Required:
Bachelor's degree2 years of experience in a related field2 years of experience in proposal writing or a similar role2 years of experience supporting or coordinating complex projects

At Lakeshore, we pay local market wages for employees that reside within Los Angeles and Orange Counties.

For this position, new employees joining Lakeshore who live within Los Angeles and Orange Counties are typically brought into the organization at an hourly rate between $33.89-$45.91 depending on relevant experience & skillset.

This range is indicative of projected hiring range. The annual base compensation will take into account each candidate's relevant experience, location, and skillset.
