JOB SUMMARY
Provides students with real-world experience in graphic design or video production for those with a genuine interest in pursuing these fields. Duties vary based on the student's area of focus and the needs of the department. Work is performed independently, under general supervision. Interns will create projects for use in schools and, offices, and on AACPS social media platforms and cable channels. May work up to 8 hours per day.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Works with staff to develop creative solutions for incoming graphic design or video production requests.
Works independently to create final, professional-quality materials.
Graphic Design
- will design a variety of projects, including posters, brochures, forms, flyers, and banners and will be involved in the physical production of large-format graphic materials and will assist in the Print Shop with organizing and distributing printed materials. Video
- will assist with video production tasks, including camera operation, lighting, audio setup, and video editing and participate in video shoots, including both live productions such as Board meetings and in-studio productions.
Participates in offsite work, when possible and as needed, including installation of graphic materials and on-location video shoots.
Performs general office duties, including basic record keeping and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
Graphic Design Interns—Demonstrated proficiency (through a portfolio of work) with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop.
Video Interns—Demonstrated proficiency (through completed video productions) with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, specifically, Premiere, and a general ability in Illustrator and Photoshop.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work efficiently and harmoniously with others and at the direction of department staff.
Willing to use a variety of hand tools, including for cutting and mounting.
Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.
Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite—Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred).
