YouTube Video Editor

Ideal Candidate We are seeking an experienced, creative, and highly organized YouTube Video Editor to own the post-production pipeline for the John Malecki Builds and John Malecki Unscrewed YouTube Channels. What You'll Do:

1. Post-Production & Workflow Management Oversee the full post-production process from ingest to final delivery. Maintain clean, organized project files, media libraries, and version control. Optimize workflows to improve efficiency, speed, and scalability as the team grows. Coordinate with producers and production staff to plan edits ahead of shoots when possible. 2. Team Collaboration & Mentorship Collaborate with producers and on-screen talent to refine concepts and storytelling. Collaborate with the production team during pre-production to anticipate post-production needs and improve shoot efficiency. Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance editing environment. Work cross-functionally with social, marketing, and publishing teams to ensure content is optimized for distribution. Align with brand leadership to continuously refine and evolve the John Malecki Media editing style. Support onboarding and training of new editors to quickly integrate them into workflows. 3. Technical Oversight Troubleshoot editing, software, and hardware issues as they arise. Ensure all exports meet technical specifications and quality standards. Stay current on editing trends, tools, plugins, and workflow improvements. Maintain the overall visual style, pacing, and storytelling standards for the John Malecki brands. Execute final cuts including color grading, sound design, music selection, and visual effects/motion graphics Shape comedic timing, narrative flow, and emotional beats to maximize audience engagement. Ensure all content aligns with platform-specific best practices Utilize stock content and AI tools within editing workflows Job Requirements 3+ years of professional video editing experience, ideally with YouTube or digital-first content. Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro and proficiency in After Effects . Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and audience retention. Experience with motion graphics, sound design, and color grading. Proven ability to lead projects and mentor other editors. Exceptional organization and time-management skills. Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines without sacrificing quality. Creative thinker with a strong editorial voice and collaborative mindset.
