Digital Editor & Videographer

Contract Summary:
The Applied Training Solutions' Digital Editor and Videographer will support the Media Emulation team in creating Broadcast and Radio style videos to support training requirements. The Digital Editor and Videographer will edit video and audio, both remotely and in-person when required, and at times be required to shoot video including interviews, press conferences and b-roll.
Job Duties:
1) Video & Audio Editing a.
Media Emulation Content Broadcast products:
Create news broadcasts, public service announcements and all other video products for exercise scenarios. This may include meeting with the client/exercise design team to come up with production concepts, shooting video for interviews and b-roll, and post-production/editing to create the final product. Radio products: Editing and uploading radio news stories, public service announcements or other radio products to support exercise scenarios based on the client's/exercise design team's guidance and vision. 2) Videography a.
Media Emulation Content Broadcast products:
Shoot video including b-roll, one-on-one interviews and press conferences including setting up lighting, microphones and appropriate backdrops (when necessary).
Basic Qualifications:
Four or more years of experience in broadcast journalism, video editing, graphic design or digital marketing fields. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Premier, Bridge, Lightroom, Illustrator) and Canva; knowledge of HTML and graphic design Proficient in MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) Self-starter, positive attitude, detail and partner-oriented with good time management and multitasking skills. Excellent critical thinking, creativity, interpersonal skills, communication and problem-solving skills Must be a US citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting emergency management programs Public Affairs Qualification Course (DoD, FEMA Master Public Information Officer Program, or equivalent)
DHS FEMA
In-Person Courses E/L0105 Public Information Basics and E/L0388 Advanced Public Information Officer Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Premier, Bridge, Lightroom, Illustrator) and Canva; knowledge of HTML and graphic design

Working Environment:
The usual daily work conditions will either be on-site for exercise execution or remotely from home. The job requires occasional lifting of video equipment, generally not in excess of 30 lbs., usually in connection with equipment transport to off-site locations for exercise events.
Additional physical requirements include:
standing for periods of time exceeding one hour, crawl under or over office furniture, and sit for periods of time exceeding two hours. The exercise support staff typically travels with a high degree of frequency which is determined by the need of the company to fulfill contract requirements. Travel to training exercise locations regularly includes CONUS and its territories. Exercise duty may include extended work periods beyond 12 hours; air travel in excess of 18 hours on a single aircraft; outdoor working conditions; and driving for extended periods to work sites.
