Student Athletics Video Manager Position Overview:
Join Dordt University's marketing team and help capture the excitement of Defender Athletics. The Student Athletics Videographer & Editor assists in fi lming athletic events and editing short-form video content that supports Dordt Athletics' marketing eff orts across university and athletics channels. This position provides hands-on experience in sports videography, video editing, live event coverage, and production workflow while working alongside the university's video team.
Responsibilities:
  • Capture video coverage of assigned Dordt athletic events using university equipment.
  • Film game action, celebrations, crowd atmosphere, and supporting footage according to established production standards.
  • Edit short-form sports videos in Adobe Premiere Pro using pre-built templates and production workflow.
  • Produce assigned video deliverables, including: ○ Game Day Hype videos ○ Highlight videos ○ Immediate Turnaround clips
  • Meet production deadlines, including quick-turnaround edits following athletic events.
  • Organize and manage project footage and media assets.
  • Support other athletic video production projects as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Interest in videography, filmmaking, sports media, or digital media.
  • Basic experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or similar video editing software.
  • Basic understanding of camera operation (training provided).
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Dependable and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends during athletic seasons.
Requirements:
  • Must be eligible for work-study employment.
  • Available to work a minimum of 5 hours per week during the school year.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends as athletic schedules require.
  • Willing to attend training sessions on camera operation, editing workflow, and production standards.
