Job Description
Work for the region's most respected lifestyle publications and live near beautiful Lake Martin! Tallapoosa Publishers, Inc., in Alexander City, Alabama, is looking for a talented Feature Writer to join our award-winning magazine team. If you love connecting with people, discovering what makes a community special and telling stories that matter, this is the job for you! Our team produces a full lineup of glossy lifestyle magazines, including our signature monthly publications - Lake Magazine and Lake Martin Living, along with three to five annual special editions focused on tourism, economic development and visitor and community development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, strong writing skills, and the ability to capture the personality behind every feature. This is a full-time, entry-level position with paid vacation, insurance and 401K. Candidates must be familiar with Associated Press (AP) style and comfortable working in a fast-paced publishing environment with deadlines. Photography experience is required, and familiarity with Adobe InDesign is a plus. This is a full-time position based on beautiful Lake Martin. This is not a remote position, and candidates must be willing to relocate to our coverage area. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
- Proficient in AP style writing
- Photography experience with a 35mm camera
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional nights and weekends
- InDesign and Adobe Photoshop skills are preferred, but not required
