Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for researching, developing, and writing and/or editing new policies and procedures for various business units throughout Cathay Bank (Bank). Produce end user documents including internal communications, policy/procedure documents, operating manuals, job aids, reference tools, and forms as requested. Work closely with department and business unit managers to resolve procedural gaps or inconsistencies. Review and revise existing policies and procedures to improve workflow and create efficiencies while minimizing risk exposure. Coordinate or lead in scope projects. Participate in business sponsored projects as requested to support documentation requirements.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop and write new policies and procedures ensuring effectiveness, consistency, and adherence to established department standards. Work with or without an initial draft from requesting business unit. Partner with business leadership in evaluating, writing and/or editing policies for enhancements or modifications. Translate meeting discussion notes into an internal communication or a comprehensive policy and/or procedure. Analyze existing procedures to identify gaps, inconsistencies or conflicts and take appropriate action to resolve. Work closely with all departments and business units including Risk Management, Information Technology, Information Security, Treasury Management, Financial Crime Intelligence Unit (FCIU), Compliance, Deposit Operations, Loan Operations, Credit Administration, Lending units, Human Resources and Controller s Office on new policy/procedure development and revisions to published documents. Research and write internal communications, new documents and prepare document updates. Create, update, and maintain various job aids and reference material. Develop new forms and update old forms as needed as they relate to published documents in the Policy and Procedure Library. Coordinate or lead documentation projects. May manage multiple projects concurrently. Follow the established approval process for Bank policies and procedures by managing review cycles on behalf of the department or business unit. Maintain accurate archives of master documents and prior versions with corresponding required approvals using the document management system. Maintain comprehensive procedural documentation on the publications document management system including any enhancements or upgrades. Assist in developing and documenting procedures for various units within the Bank. Execute policy and other document type reviews as required with content owners according to current requirements. Issue published document change announcements. Maintain and report current pipeline and status of documents pending and in process.QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
College degree with business classes preferred.Experience:
Minimum 5 or more years of policy and procedure writing and/or business analysis in a banking or financial services environment. At least 3 years of experience with general banking or lending functions. Project management/coordination experience preferred. Experience with document or content management software and application settings a plus.Skills/Ability:
Proficient in all Microsoft products. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to translate meeting discussion notes into comprehensive policy and/or procedures. Must be committed to seeking opportunities for improvement and increasing efficiency. Ability to identify and solve problems, effectively work with staff at all levels, and function in a team environment. Must be able to work independently, be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized and adapt well to a fast-paced changing environment.OTHER DETAILS
$105K - $109K / year Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
