Job Description

Wahiawa, HI BITS is seeking an experienced Instructor/Writer to support the Regional Signal Training Sites (RSTS) program at Pacific Signal University (PSU) located at Helemano Military Reservation (HMR), Wahiawa, HI. The Instructor/Writer is responsible for developing, updating, and delivering technical training in areas including Information Technology certifications, Tactical Networks and Cybersecurity in accordance with Army and Department of Defense training requirements with having but not required Tactical Radios. All duties shall be performed in accordance with the RSTS Performance Work Statement (PWS) and applicable Army training regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Instructor/Writer shall: Develop and update Government-owned training materials including lesson plans, presentations, labs, and student guides. Review and edit courseware for technical accuracy, completeness, logical flow, and clarity. Analyze student critiques and course evaluations to improve instructional materials and delivery methods. Deliver instructor-led training in accordance with RSTS site policies, lesson plans, and approved training schedules. Maintain required industry certifications as directed by the Government RSTS Site Manager. Participate in Operational Tests, Training Exercises, and New Equipment Training (NET) events when required. Conduct end-of-course evaluations and report results to the Government RSTS Site Manager. Implement and support Train-the-Trainer programs to enable unit sustainment training. Ensure training covers all operational aspects of the systems and equipment being taught. Support commercial certification testing and assist with coordination of testing requirements when applicable. Serve as a Pearson VUE and/or testing proctor when required and coordinate testing activities with Army course managers. Perform all assigned duties in accordance with the RSTS Performance Work Statement (PWS) and applicable Army training regulations.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES
Possess current industry certifications or demonstrated experience instructing on tactical and commercial communications systems relevant to the assigned course. Demonstrate proficiency with Army-standard desktop applications and configurations including Microsoft Office, Army reporting tools, and Army Gold Master (AGM) configurations. Prior military service is preferred and considered beneficial for training delivery. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and the ability to access military installations. Possess and maintain an active DoD SECRET security clearance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 7 years of experience developing and delivering technical training in complex IT, cybersecurity, or communications-related subjects. A Bachelors degree in a related field may substitute for experience where applicable. Required Certifications but not limited to ( minimum of two ): Tech+ Security+ A+ CYSA Cloud+ CISSP Linux+ Pentest+ CASP+ Preferred but not required
Certifications:
Network+ CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Administrator) Project Manager Professional (PMP) Data+ Fiber Optic Installer Hands-on experience with tactical radio systems such as AN/PRC-160, AN/PRC-163, AN/PRC-168, AN/PRC-158, AN/PRC-171 or related systems. Demonstrated skills with basic or advanced networking. Ability to adapt instructional delivery to diverse audiences and class sizes. Experience mentoring or counseling students to improve learning outcomes. Familiarity with Army Regulation 350-1, TRADOC Regulation 350-70, and TRADOC Pamphlets 350-70-X. Must obtain any required certifications within 60 days of assignment. (DoD 8570.01M IAT and IAM level 1 certifications).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is primarily performed at Helemano Military Reservation (HMR), Wahiawa, HI. Travel may be required up to 40%, depending on training support requirements. Position requires standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods while instructing or supporting training events.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Instruction may occur in classroom environments, field environments, and virtual learning platforms. Duties may require working both indoors and outdoors depending on the training scenario
