Entry Writer / Import Specialist Elk Grove Village, IL | Competitive Pay + Benefits Full-time | Onsite (Mon-Fri) About the Role We're partnering with a customs brokerage/logistics team that needs an experienced Entry Writer / Import Specialist to help clear import shipments correctly and on time. This job is all about reviewing paperwork, submitting entries, handling FDA requirements, and staying on top of releases so freight doesn't get stuck. What You'll Do Check import paperwork and make sure nothing is missing Enter shipment/entry details into the customs system Review documents like invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading Look up HTS/product codes when they're not provided Handle FDA/PGA steps and update release status (including "May Proceed") Track releases from Customs, FDA, and other agencies Email/call clients right away if a shipment is on hold, selected for exam, or missing info Send hold/release instructions to carriers and steamship lines when needed Fix entry and documentation mistakes so shipments can clear Hand off cleared files to the post-entry team for final processing What They're Looking For 3+ years doing customs entry writing / brokerage operations Strong experience with import entries, HTS codes, customs clearance, and FDA/PGA QuestaWeb is a plus Detail-oriented and organized Solid communication skills Comfortable with Outlook, Word, and Excel Works well in a fast-paced onsite logistics environment #
