We are seeking a talented Senior Proposal- Team Lead to join our team at our corporate office in Overland Park, KS. This pivotal role will contribute to our growth by leading the creation of compelling, high-quality proposals that drive our success.
Summary of Position:
Leads the development of high-quality, compelling proposals that drive competitive bid wins and support the expansion of the Company's national portfolio of hospitality and recreation contracts. This role manages complex RFP responses, conducts strategic research, and collaborates cross-functionally to produce persuasive, well-structured documentation that highlights the Company's capabilities and enhances guest experiences at state and national parks across the country. Candidates with experience working for local, state or federal land management agencies such as state Departments of Natural Resource, National Park Service, US Forest Service or Zoos, or in related industries such as Zoos, Museums or Aquariums are highly encouraged to apply!Responsibilities:
Review and interpret RFPs, technical specifications, and contractual documents to understand agency requirements and identify winning strategies Conduct in-depth research across multiple sources to gather relevant data and insights Partners with internal teams to develop proposal strategies, value propositions, and differentiators Write clear, persuasive, and comprehensive proposal content tailored to each agency's needs Ensure all proposal materials are accurate, well-organized, compliant, and aligned with internal style and branding guidelines Edit and proofread content for clarity, grammar, tone, and consistency Manage multiple proposal assignments simultaneously while maintaining high quality and meeting stringent deadlines Participate in regular proposal planning meetings to track progress, gather updates, and refine content needs Engage with senior-level stakeholders and subject-matter experts to develop new content and refine existing materials into compelling, client-focused narratives Translate research findings and operational information into proposal-ready documentation that effectively showcases the Company's expertise Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and proposal production to ensure final submissions are complete, compliant, and professionally presented Proactively identify challenges, propose creative solutions, and communicate potential risks or bottlenecks to the team Synthesize complex data, including financial and operational information, into concise, compliant content that aligns with agency page limits and guidelines Perform additional duties and special projects as assignedRequirements:
Exceptional comprehension, writing, editing, and verbal communication skills Experience using AI tools to assist in the creative writing process Strong research capabilities with the ability to identify strategic content opportunities Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive information Highly self-motivated, professional, and ethical, with the ability to excel with minimal supervision Adaptable to changing priorities and capable of performing effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and personalities Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word Creative thinker with strong project management and time-management abilities Ability to interpret and incorporate financial information into narrative content Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset and creative approach to pursuing business opportunitiesKnowledge and Experience:
Education:
Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Communications, Journalism, Business, Public Affairs, Public Administration or related field from accredited institution.Experience:
Ten (10) years of experience writing, editing, and proofreading long-form or technical content. Prior proposal or grant writing experience strongly preferred.
