JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for talented Writers to join the #1 national cable news program, Fox & Friends and Fox & Friends First. You use creative and conversational copy to pull viewers in. You know the difference between an attention-grabbing headline and burying the lead. You are also quick to jump on breaking news and a great communicator. The writer position will entail working directly with reporters and correspondents. You will be offered the following shift: Thursday-Monday; 2:00 AM, ET - 10:00 AM, ETA SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Write VO's, VO/SOT's and reporter stories under tight deadline pressure Create graphics and edit video via your desktop Communicate critical story information with producers and managers Operate as a team player Pitch story ideas Conduct thorough research on top storiesWHAT YOU WILL NEED
2+ years of major market experience Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience Flexibility to work both weekend and weekday overnight hours Ability to write creatively for morning television Thorough knowledge of current events, US politics, geopolitics, foreign policy and history Ability to manage breaking news #LI-BC1 We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
