Full-Time About Us Comet Customs Brokers Inc. is a small, family-owned customs brokerage firm operating in its second generation. We take pride in providing personalized service to our clients while maintaining strong relationships built on trust, professionalism, and expertise. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Customs Entry Writer to join our growing team. Prior customs brokerage experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong organizational skills, professionalism, and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities Prepare and file customs entries with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Process and manage entries involving Other Government Agencies (OGA), including: FDA (Food and Drug Administration) CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) Other applicable government agencies Review import documentation for accuracy and compliance Communicate with clients regarding shipment status, documentation requirements, and compliance matters Manage assigned customer accounts and maintain excellent client relationships Coordinate with carriers, importers, and government agencies as needed Maintain accurate records and ensure timely processing of entries Assist with general brokerage and administrative duties as required Qualifications Customs brokerage or entry writing experience preferred, but not required Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and customer service abilities Comfortable managing client accounts and interacting professionally with customers Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) Comfortable working in a Windows-based computer environment Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines Willingness to learn customs regulations and industry procedures What We Offer Competitive starting salary of $65,000+ , based on experience Training and development opportunities Supportive, family-oriented work environment Opportunity to grow with a well-established second-generation customs brokerage firm Stable, long-term career opportunity in the international trade and logistics industry If you are looking to build a career in customs brokerage and international trade while working with a dedicated and experienced team, we encourage you to apply.
