Position Overview:
The Financial Planner role provides comprehensive financial planning support to advisors and clients including data gathering, in-depth analysis, case design, scenario building, financial plan development, and supporting recommendations and plan implementation.Duties & Responsibilities :
Oversee the financial planning process and systems: Lead, oversee, and support FP Dept. by aligning quality goals and revenue goals of firm. Review the firm financial planning process, strategies, and systems, including technology, to ensure they are current with firm needs and strategies, the needs of the clients, and standards set by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. Seek feedback from the advisors and other staff to develop ways to improve, systematize, and standardize the financial planning process and overall client experience. Conduct periodic planning team meetings to promote collaboration on and learning of financial planning strategies and techniques. Collaborate with colleagues on the implementation of process improvements and special projects as needed. Oversee and manage plan delivery (including overall case preparation done by other team members). Train, develop, and mentor future financial planners. Provide support for the financial planning needs of clients including: Conduct research as needed and work with client's other advisors (attorneys, CPAs, etc.) to obtain all necessary data for financial planning analyses. Prepare all retirement forecasts, cash flow analyses, education forecasts, insurance analyses, estate flows, etc. Identify areas of opportunity for clients based on financial planning analyses. Create drafts of financial plans. Perform special request analyses for clients (e.g., mortgage analysis, Social Security analysis).Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferably in business, accounting, finance, economics or related experience. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of overall advisory experience in an investment management and/or financial advisory service firm, with a demonstrated ability to manage financial plan development and execution with client implementation. CFP designation (or other designations) preferred. Series 65 license (required). Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with various financial planning (eMoney preferred), CRM (Salesforce preferred), portfolio management (Orion preferred) and document management software. Experience with tax and estate planning software (Holistiplan, FPAlpha, etc.) is preferred. Deep knowledge and expertise in tax, including international tax and equity compensation (RSU, ISO, NQs, etc.) is preferred.Other Skills & Experience:
Has a deep understanding of RIA channel and independent financial advice delivery channel. Financial planning/wealth management acumen, judgment and experience. Solid strategic thinker, creative problem solver and competent decision maker. Demonstrated ability to drive execution and results. Superb executive communication skills—internal and external. Demonstrated ability to drive bottom line results and productivity. Possesses a passion to help new and existing clients. Continuously exhibits personal integrity and professional initiative. Reliable, follows through on commitments, does not shrink from new challenges. Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to manage and prioritize tasks. Demonstrates a commitment to accuracy by delivering high quality work. Collaborative and able to work effectively with others. Uphold firm's purpose, vision and values. This is not a sales position. Competitive compensation, between $75,000 and $125,000, based on experience, plus 15% bonus potential.Benefits include:
