In this position, you will craft comprehensive, detailed home study reports that assess the suitability of prospective foster or adoptive families. Your work will directly contribute to creating safe, nurturing environments for children in need. This paid role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working within a collaborative and compassionate organization committed to child protection and family well-being. Duties Conduct thorough interviews with prospective foster or adoptive families to gather essential information about their backgrounds, motivations, and readiness to provide a safe home environment Review and analyze background checks, references, and relevant documentation to ensure compliance with child protective services standards Write clear, detailed home study reports that evaluate the family's strengths, challenges, and overall suitability for child placement Collaborate with social workers and child welfare professionals to ensure all assessments meet legal and organizational requirements Maintain accurate records of all interviews, assessments, and correspondence related to each case Ensure timely completion of reports to support placement decisions and ongoing case management Stay informed about current best practices in child welfare, working with individuals with developmental disabilities, and childcare regulations to enhance report quality Requirements Prior experience or education in social work, child protective services, or related fields such as childcare or child welfare is highly desirable Strong understanding of working with children, including those with developmental disabilities or special needs Home study experience required.
