Job Description

Pilot Script Writer Share via: facebook x linkedin email Swedesboro , New Jersey Remote Position Remote Position Episodic Television / Reality Series Production Contracted 300 — 700 per job Dignity Revolution Apply to Job Project Overview I'm looking for a seasoned screenwriter to write the pilot episode for Marvin, a high-concept, character-driven limited series with strong prestige potential.
Logline:
In 1981 Atlantic City, a gifted but socially awkward photographer working as Director of Photography for Playboy becomes a hidden catalyst in the lives of models, celebrities, and mob figures — capturing their truths while quietly unraveling his own desires, trauma, and identity. Tone & Style A blend of: Euphoria (bold visuals + sensual chaos) The Deuce (sex industry humanity + grit) Boardwalk Empire (Atlantic City crime/glamour) Mad Men (internal psychological depth) The show is visually striking and photography-driven. We want crisp, intentional sound design, controlled cinematic framing, and a strong contrast between glamorous external chaos and deep internal conflict. Glamorous yet grounded, violent when needed, heartfelt, and thematically rich. Sexual content is present but tied to character psychology rather than exploitation.

Key Elements Complex protagonist: Charismatic but awkward, perceptive observer, deep contradictions around desire/identity/trauma. Strong 1981 Atlantic City/Playboy/mob world-building. Photography as both literal craft and central metaphor.
Long-arc potential:
rise in the hedonistic world → overload → rebirth in stability. Themes of perception vs. presence, performance vs. reality, and peace as the ultimate fulfillment. What I'm Looking For Writer with proven experience in drama pilots (1-hour format preferred). Strong voice for character psychology and visual storytelling. Ability to handle sensitive/nuanced themes (identity, trauma, sexuality) with maturity and depth. Someone excited by sensory detail, photographic framing, and a story that balances glamour with real human pain and growth. Compensation Competitive, paid rate for the pilot script (significantly above WGA minimum for an original pilot — open to discussion based on experience/credits). This is a serious project with potential for further development.

How to Apply Please send: 2-3 relevant writing samples (pilots or TV drama episodes preferred) Brief note on why this project speaks to you Rate/availability Serious inquiries only. This is not a low-budget spec script gig — I'm investing in quality.
