Job Description National General is on the lookout for an Auto Claims Supplement Writer to support 1st and 3rd party material damage claims. This role leverages strong analytical skills to prepare accurate, comprehensive damage estimates that drive appropriate claim resolution. The ideal candidate will have experience writing supplements within the insurance industry, preferably in a carrier environment. Residency within the Eastern Standard Time zone is highly preferred. We are seeking a skilled Auto Supplement Estimate Writer to join our NEST team. If you reside in the EST time zone and you have experience with supplemental estimating in an insurance carrier environment, we encourage you to apply. This is a fully virtual production base desk role with no fieldwork required. The ideal candidate is highly organized, effective at managing a claims diary, confident in negotiating with body shops, and motivated to take on new challenges while continuing to grow within the organization. Key Responsibilities
  • Possesses strong estimating fundamentals in order to create or audit estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses of all severities
  • Possesses a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company
  • Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the most complex of files across multiple lines
  • Evaluates settlement alternatives by reviewing regulatory compliance and fair claims practices; makes decisions on best option
  • Builds mastered relationships with both internal and external customers across multiple lines Supervisory Responsibilities
