Laredo, TX Job Details Full-time From $17 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Qualifications Spanish English Math Attention to detail FDA regulations Full Job Description EI Customs Broker is hiring an experienced Customs Entry Writer for our office in Laredo — the busiest land port in the United States. You'll handle real cross-border volume from day one, preparing and filing customs entries with accuracy and speed. This is a desk-based compliance role for someone who knows ABI/ACE, knows the HTSUS, and takes pride in a clean entry. Duties Prepare and file U.S. Customs entries and inbond documentation through ABI/ACE Classify imported goods under the HTSUS and determine correct duty rates Calculate duties, taxes, and fees, including MPF and HMF Coordinate Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements such as FDA, USDA, and EPA where applicable Review commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading for accuracy and compliance Process Post Summary Corrections and handle Section 232 entries on steel and aluminum Communicate directly with clients, carriers, and CBP to resolve clearance issues quickly Maintain organized, audit-ready records of all filings Skills Working knowledge of CBP regulations and HTSUS classification Hands-on experience with ABI/ACE and brokerage software Strong math accuracy for duty and fee calculation Sharp attention to detail under deadline pressure Clear communication with clients, carriers, and government agencies English and Spanish (verbal and written) highly valued on the border
