In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and schematics that support the development of complex mechanical and system designs. Your expertise in CAD software and mechanical drafting standards will be essential to translating conceptual ideas into clear, accurate, and comprehensive drawings that facilitate seamless construction, manufacturing, and system integration. Responsibilities Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, and Pro/ENGINEER, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards. Create precise schematics, system layouts, assembly diagrams, and mechanical designs aligned with project requirements and engineering principles. Interpret engineering sketches, technical manuals, and design specifications to produce accurate drafting outputs. Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to review design concepts, provide drafting support during the development process, and incorporate feedback effectively. Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure manufacturing precision and quality control. Maintain comprehensive documentation of drawings, revisions, and technical records following ASME codes & standards. Support construction teams by providing detailed drawings necessary for fabrication, assembly, installation, and system integration. Skills Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, Pro/ENGINEER (PTC Creo), and Bluebeam for drawing creation and markup. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and system design processes. Knowledge of GD&T standards to communicate manufacturing tolerances effectively. Experience with schematics development for mechanical systems and construction projects. Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools for structural analysis is a plus. Ability to interpret technical writing such as manuals or specifications related to mechanical design. Excellent drafting skills with attention to detail; capable of producing high-quality 2D/3D models and animations when needed. Understanding of ASME codes & standards governing mechanical design and safety practices. Effective communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
