About the Role Join a dynamic team focused on developing bespoke automation solutions for industrial manufacturing. In this role, you will lead the mechanical design process for unique, high-impact machinery, ensuring that every project pushes the boundaries of current automation technology. Responsibilities Develop innovative mechanical designs for custom automated systems using Solidworks to meet specific client requirements. Drive the selection and integration of critical components, including motors, gearboxes, power transmission systems, pneumatic cylinders, and advanced sensors. Manage the creation of comprehensive bills of materials to ensure seamless procurement and assembly. Provide technical oversight during the manufacturing, testing, and final customer runoff phases to guarantee performance excellence. Act as a primary technical point of contact for clients, translating their needs into functional, high-performance machine designs. Optimize machine reliability and efficiency through iterative design improvements and hands-on troubleshooting. Qualifications Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an Associate degree in a relevant technical field. Demonstrated proficiency in Solidworks and AutoCAD for complex mechanical modeling. Strong mechanical aptitude with a proven ability to solve intricate engineering challenges. Effective project management skills to oversee design timelines and deliverables. Preferred Skills Prior experience in the design of custom industrial automation or specialized machinery.
