The Role We Want You For LJC is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Design Staff I to support and enhance our growing design practice. This role is ideal for an early-career architectural professional who is eager to contribute across all phases of design while developing technical and creative skills in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment. You will work closely with project teams, studio peers, and multidisciplinary partners across LJC and Clayco's construction and real estate groups to support project delivery and contribute to design excellence. The Specifics of the Role Assist with various aspects of architectural design, including conceptual studies, programming, systems selection, and spatial layout Support the preparation of programming, schematic design, design development, and construction documents Contribute to the development of marketing and presentation materials for client pursuits and project milestones Collaborate with project teams, studio members, and cross-functional partners across disciplines Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and project coordination efforts Engage in experiential learning opportunities and professional development to build technical and design expertise Represent LJC in community engagement and industry-related events Support the firm's commitment to design excellence, innovation, and collaboration while embodying LJC's core values of integrity, humility, and fearlessness Requirements Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field 0-3 years of relevant experience in architecture or design Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD and/or Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite Strong design sensibility with the ability to contribute to both creative and technical aspects of projects Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment Some Things You Should Know Our clients and projects are nationwide No other builder can offer the collaborative design-build approach that Clayco does We work on creative, complex, award-winning, high-profile jobs The pace is fast!
