Title:
Designer II Location:
Pascagoula, MS Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Designer II develop designs and integrated functional drawings, 3D product model and extraction of product model data into production drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
Creates innovative and cost-effective solutions in the development of vessel designs. Develops functional drawings based on direction from engineer and applicable work order instruction. Reviews applicable specification and regulation requirements. Develops detailed production drawings based on functional drawings, applicable specifications and work order. Ensures that the design product created interfaces with overall vessel design. Ensures that engineering deliverables conform to engineering design and customer specifications. Consults with vendors on project related activities. Actively interfaces with other engineering disciplines and production department.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) + years of Designer experience.
Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of USCG, ABS, SOLAS, and government shipbuilding standards. Ability to create complex drawings from start to finish. Working knowledge of basic computer software (i.e., AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.). Good communication skills, both oral and written. Able to work in a team environment. Able to work with minimum supervision.
