Job Title:
Drafter Job Description This Drafter role oversees projects through all phases of drawing creation, from schematic design to final as-built documentation. You will create and maintain high-quality construction and shop drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, ensuring that all plans remain accurate, coordinated, and aligned with the products being manufactured and installed. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with design, manufacturing, and field teams to support successful project delivery. Responsibilities Oversee projects through all phases of drawing creation, including Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Shop Submittals, and As-Built drawings from start to finish as needed per project. Create detailed shop submittal drawings in both AutoCAD and Revit formats that accurately reflect design intent and product specifications. Update and revise drawings to incorporate red line changes provided by team members prior to and during the design process, ensuring plans remain current and accurate. Coordinate drawings with the products being manufactured and track changes through final product delivery so that all plans align with actual field conditions. Prepare complete, organized sets of construction documents that support permitting, fabrication, and installation activities. Incorporate red line corrections made by Field Technicians during installation into the drawings so that final as-built plans reflect the completed work. Maintain up-to-date as-built documentation to support future service calls, maintenance activities, and potential project expansions. Collaborate with designers, engineers, and field personnel to clarify design details and resolve drawing-related questions. Follow established drafting standards, file organization practices, and project documentation procedures to ensure consistency and quality. Essential Skills Proficiency with AutoCAD for creating and modifying detailed drawings and construction documents. Experience using Revit for building information modeling (BIM) and coordinated drawing production. Hands-on drafting experience in architecture, engineering, or a related field. Ability to read and produce architectural and construction blueprints. Familiarity with BIM workflows and tools, including coordination with other disciplines. Experience working with construction documents, including plans, sections, details, and schedules. Understanding of electrical schematics and their integration into overall project drawings. Knowledge of CAD standards and best practices for organizing and managing drawing sets. Strong attention to detail when incorporating red line markups and field changes. Ability to collaborate effectively with design teams, manufacturing teams, and field technicians. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate degree in architectural drafting, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Experience with Navisworks or similar tools for model review and coordination is beneficial. Exposure to PCB or electrical layout drawings is a plus. Background in architectural drafting, building design, or construction documentation. Ability to manage multiple projects and drawing packages simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate records of drawing revisions and as-built documentation. Effective communication skills to clarify design intent and coordinate with cross-functional teams. Work Environment This is an in-office position with a typical schedule of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You will work in a professional office environment focused on design, drafting, and construction documentation, using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other CAD/BIM applications. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
