As the Detail Manager, you will lead the daily operations while ensuring exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and dealership-ready vehicle quality. This role is responsible for supervising detailers, managing workflow in a fast-paced dealership environment, and maintaining high standards for productivity, safety, and performance. The Detail Manager will have strong leadership skills, excellent organization, and the ability to step in and perform hands-on detailing when needed to keep operations running smoothly. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage daily operations of the dealership detail department Manage detail department employee schedule to maintain proper coverage at all times Maintain staffing of the department Coordinate vehicle flow and prioritize units Ensure all vehicles meet dealership presentation and quality standards Perform quality control inspections on completed detail work Train, coach, and develop detailer and support staff Maintain company standards for turnaround times while ensuring attention to detail Communicate effectively with service and sales departments Monitor and maintain cleanliness of the detail department and wash bay areas Manage inventory and ordering of detailing supplies and chemicals Hands-on detailing work is required alongside detailers Identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance efficiency and service quality. Ensure proper care and safe handling of customer and dealership vehicles Maintain compliance with safety procedures and company policies Other duties assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience managing or supervising an automotive detail department preferred Previous dealership experience strongly preferred Hands-on automotive detailing experience required Experience working in a fast-paced automotive environment Ability to lead a team while maintaining accountability and productivity Strong organizational and communication skills Knowledge of detailing chemicals, equipment, and proper usage Experience with ceramic coatings preferred Ability to operate buffers, extractors, steamers, and detailing equipment safely Submit to and successfully complete MVR, background check and pre-employment drug screening Must be authorized to work in the United States
