Job Description

Purpose Neighborhood Food Pantries (NFP) is seeking candidates who exhibit strong fundraising and leadership acumen for its Development Director position. The Director will lead NFP's overall fundraising and marketing strategies, focusing on sustaining and growing the financial support of NFP and to increase visibility in the community. This position is part of the Leadership team, reporting to the Executive Director, and will staff the Development and Events Committees of the NFP Board of Directors. NFP is launching a new strategic plan and is looking towards expansion. The Director will be instrumental in helping the Executive Director and Board of Directors plan and scale for growth. This is a full-time position, with the expectation that the candidate filling the role will work remotely, but have the ability to travel to community, donor and organizational meetings in the DuPage County area. Functions as part of a team to advance the mission of Neighborhood Food Pantries. Reports To Executive Director Skills and Experience Needed The ideal candidate is a hands-on fundraising generalist with extensive experience in annual giving from individuals and local business including event sponsorships, mail appeals, peer-to-peer solicitation, and fundraising through social media.

Commitment to NFP's mission, values, and community focus Highly organized, high attention to detail and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously Enjoys working in a nonprofit that has a high reliance on volunteer involvement throughout the organization Demonstrated ability to create strong relationships with donors in a variety of environments Demonstrated commitment to collaborative teamwork Demonstrated ability in public speaking, written and oral communication and interpersonal relations Able to effectively promote and represent NFP to other organizations Excellent interpersonal and networking skills among diverse constituent groups Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality Able to work independently and with a team Ability to work effectively with volunteers and with people from diverse backgrounds Strong ability to compile, analyze, and use data in goal setting and decision making Intermediate to advanced proficiency in CRM databases (preferably Donor Perfect) Existing knowledge of the DuPage County community and philanthropic landscape is a plus Main Duties include, but are not restricted to the following: Manage a diverse portfolio of donors including individuals, business, community leaders using face-to-face solicitation, phone calls and written proposals. Provide guidance and support to the NFP Development and Events Committees. Plan and implement multi-faceted annual fundraising activity to raise $740,000+ in revenue. Practice excellent stewardship for donor retention and increased contribution. Participate in the identification, application and reporting of foundation and business grant opportunities. Leverage Executive Director and Board Members involvement when needed to maximize donor giving. Develop and implement sponsorship strategy and support special event volunteer committees for HarvestFest and Shopping Cart Shuffle. Contribute to social media communications. Support Women of Impact and other volunteer organization fundraising efforts. Develop and maintain a fundraising dashboard to monitor progress. Attend Board meetings and committee meetings. Participate in the development of the annual budget. Accessing help from volunteers and community partners, developing marketing material to promote NFP services and special events. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in a related field or 5+ years of successful fundraising experience required 3 years of experience managing a CRM database required (Donor Perfect preferred) including using data for analytics required 2 years event management experience required Experience developing and managing a budget preferred Marketing or communications experience preferred Experience supervising volunteers preferred
