Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Empower students to connect, learn, and thrive by providing essential support as a teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a dynamic educational environment. Step into a vital contract position focused on delivering DHH services to a small group of students, helping them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
Key Qualifications:
Certified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligible for relevant state credentials In-depth knowledge of strategies and accommodations for DHH learners Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Strong communication skills for collaborating with general education teachers, families, and school teams Familiarity with assistive listening technologies and visual communication methods Passion for advocacy and fostering independence among students
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized direct instruction, consultation, and support tailored to students with hearing differences Assess student needs and track progress, adapting instruction as needed Support IEP development, documentation, and delivery in compliance with special education laws Collaborate with school staff and families to ensure accessible learning environments Train teams on effective communication strategies and use of amplification or visual aids Cultivate a positive, inclusive atmosphere where every student is empowered to participate and succeed
