Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract An exciting contract opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to make a direct impact in the lives of elementary-aged students. This unique position involves conducting a comprehensive evaluation for a single elementary school student. The assignment is ideal for professionals seeking a focused, short-term role with the flexibility of limited hours.
Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (state-specific as required) Experience working with elementary-aged children with hearing impairments Strong assessment and evaluation skills, with a background in educational diagnostics Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families Knowledge of current best practices and technologies for Deaf/Hard of Hearing education Familiarity with IEP development and documentation preferredRole Responsibilities:
Conduct a thorough, evidence-based evaluation of one elementary-aged student to assess educational needs and strengths Collaborate with school personnel and the student's family to gather relevant background information Prepare and deliver a detailed report summarizing findings and recommendations Ensure all evaluation processes are compliant with applicable regulations and timelines Attend meetings as required to share assessment outcomes and support IEP developmentBenefits of This Assignment:
