Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract An exciting contract opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to make a direct impact in the lives of elementary-aged students. This unique position involves conducting a comprehensive evaluation for a single elementary school student. The assignment is ideal for professionals seeking a focused, short-term role with the flexibility of limited hours.
Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (state-specific as required) Experience working with elementary-aged children with hearing impairments Strong assessment and evaluation skills, with a background in educational diagnostics Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families Knowledge of current best practices and technologies for Deaf/Hard of Hearing education Familiarity with IEP development and documentation preferred
Role Responsibilities:
Conduct a thorough, evidence-based evaluation of one elementary-aged student to assess educational needs and strengths Collaborate with school personnel and the student's family to gather relevant background information Prepare and deliver a detailed report summarizing findings and recommendations Ensure all evaluation processes are compliant with applicable regulations and timelines Attend meetings as required to share assessment outcomes and support IEP development
