Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (Computerized Tomography) Department of Health and Human Services Indian Health Service Summary The purpose of this position is to maintain a comprehensive computerized tomography program in the Radiology Department. The incumbent will perform computerized tomography, diagnostic radiology examinions, schedule pients for examinions and perform quality control activities. Perform computerized axial tomographic scanning of the head and/or body. Provides proper pient protection as prescribed by safety standards. Performs intravenous cannulion for IV contrast injections. Monitors injection and recognizes complicion of injection. Performs diagnostic radiographic of chest, abdominal, skull, extremity exams and other types of examinion and positioning. Schedules pients for examinions. Enters da into the Picture Archiving System (PACS); Resources and Pient Management Systems (RPMS) and Electronic Health Record. Perform quality control activities and minor adjustments to equipment. Perform required calibrion tests and recordings of equipment errors. (S) : Public Law 97-35 requires th persons who administer radiologic procedures meet the credentialing standards in 42 CFR Part 75. Essentially, they must (1) have successfully completed an educional program th meets or exceeds the standards described in th regulion, and is accredited by an organizion recognized by the Department of Educion, and (2) be certified as radiographers in their field.The following meet these requirements:
(1) Persons employed by the Federal Government as radiologic personnel prior to the effective de of the regulion (January 13, 1986) who show evidence of current or fully sisfactory performance or certificion of such from a licensed practitioner such as a doctor of medicine, osteophy, dentistry, podiry, or chiropractic who prescribes radiologic procedures to others. (2) Persons first employed by the Federal Government as radiologic personnel after the effective de of the regulion who (a) received training from institutions in a Ste or foreign jurisdiction th did not accredit training in th particular field the time of graduion, or (b) practiced in a Ste or foreign jurisdiction th did not license th particular field or did not allow special eligibility to take a licensure examinion for those who did not gradue from an accredited educional program, provided th such persons show evidence of training, experience, and competence as determined by OPM or the employing agency. In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualificions sted below•MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Your resume must demonstre least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the prive or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Experience in the operion of diagnostic radiology and computed tomography equipment under the direction of radiologists or other medical officers to produce radiographic studies used in medical diagnosis and trement. Radiology (CT): Performs CT scan of the head and/or body. Produces ionizing within safe permissible range as to achieve quality radiographs. Performs standardized examinions, determines the approprie thickness of cuts, recognizes standard targeting technique necessary to complete the examinion. Radiology(X-Ray): Produces ionizing radiion within a safe permissible range in order to achieve sisfactory diagnostic radiographs on chest, abdominal, skull, extremity exams and possibly other types of examinions and positioning e.g., gastrointestinal series and urogram.Selective Placement Factor:
