Job Description

About the Company AG Transfer LLC ("the Company") operates a bulk agricultural commodity transload facility in Elwood, IL. The Company operates a fleet of semi-tractors, yard hostlers, and other heavy equipment used for daily operations. Ag Transfer is looking for an experienced diesel mechanic with a great attitude, work ethic and willingness to work in a team environment. Job Description The Diesel Mechanic will be expected to trouble shoot and perform repairs as needed, including routine preventative maintenance for trucks, heavy equipment, trailers, and machinery, and general maintenance on diesel truck tractors, yard tractors, skid steers and more. This position will entail maintaining DOT compliant maintenance records for all vehicles and enforcing safety policies and procedures with other employees and visitors at all times. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for communicating with team members to prioritize workflow to meet deadlines and maintain proper inventories of supplies. Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. CDL Class A License a plus. Welding and fabrication skills preferred. 3+ years' experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing diesel engines, heavy equipment, and machinery. Knowledge of basic safety practices and a willingness to be cross-trained and adhere to safety policies and procedures for the facility. Must be able to pass a drug and background check (will be subject to random ongoing drug tests). Strong work ethic; enjoys a fast-paced workflow; ability to meet deadlines. Good interpersonal communication skills. Physically able to climb up and down transloading equipment/ladders safely. Ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb, and maintain balance throughout the day. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions, including snow, rain, and sub-freezing temperatures. Good hearing and hand-eye coordination. Can carry fifty (50) pounds. Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience and performance. Full-time employment with 40+ hours and overtime available within DOT limitations.
