Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Mechanic, where your expertise in heavy equipment and vehicle maintenance will keep operations running smoothly and efficiently. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a wide variety of machinery, including trucks, industrial equipment, and farm machinery, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills. As a key player in our maintenance team, you will diagnose, repair, and service diesel engines and related systems to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your contributions will directly impact the productivity of our operations while providing a stimulating environment for professional growth. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, and fluid checks on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, and various power tools to meet specific repair requirements. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs on vehicles and equipment utilizing automotive diagnostics tools. Operate heavy machinery safely during repairs or testing procedures to verify proper functioning post-service. Read and interpret schematics to accurately diagnose issues with farm machinery, construction equipment, or vehicle systems. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed, ensuring compliance with safety standards and OEM guidelines. Requirements Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership or heavy equipment service background preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and suspension components. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance tools effectively. Ability to read schematics accurately and follow OEM repair procedures for complex machinery. Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers or similar heavy equipment is highly desirable. Knowledge of automotive diagnostics software and electrical troubleshooting techniques. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in various environments requiring manual dexterity. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication during repairs or consultations.
