Job Description:

The main duties of our diesel mechanics are to maintain diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements as required by each truck brought into the shop. Correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments, alignments; and keeping records are some of the tasks associated with the main job functions.

Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to: Diagnoses trouble, dissembles engines and examines parts of defects and excessive wear. Reconditions and replaces parts such as pistons, bearings, gears, valves, and bushings. Welding Engine tune ups Truck and trailer services All aspects of truck repair Record repairs and parts on service order Assist department manager as needed Continuing education Maintain shop equipment Insure safety at all times Proper use of equipment through good housekeeping, work habits and proper use of personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent Prior experience required Post-secondary training is preferred (Certificate, AA Degree) Physically able to: bend, stoop, twist, and lift up to 60 lbs.
