$50,000 - $75,000+, depending on experience Job Overview Stephenson Dirt Contracting LLC is seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of heavy equipment and trucks used in civil construction. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience servicing diesel engines, diagnosing issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring equipment is safe and reliable. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance on diesel engines, heavy equipment, and company vehicles. Inspect and troubleshoot engine, hydraulic, electrical, and brake systems. Maintain accurate service records and document all work performed. Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment checks to ensure safety and performance. Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field when necessary. Collaborate with the operations and field teams to minimize equipment downtime. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment. Follow all safety regulations and company procedures. Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in construction or heavy equipment. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals. Own tools required; company provides specialty equipment. Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. A background check will be completed as part of the onboarding process, in compliance with applicable laws.
