Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain DOT regulated trucks and equipment. This role ensures all vehicles meet DOT and FMCSA compliance standards, while supporting safe and efficient fleet operations. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance on diesel trucks, including oil changes, brake inspections, and tire service Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and software Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brake systems, suspensions, and other components Conduct DOT inspections and ensure vehicles meet federal and state compliance requirements Maintain accurate service and repair records in accordance with DOT regulations Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend vehicle life Respond to roadside breakdowns as needed Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards Collaborate with fleet managers and drivers to identify and resolve issues Keep shop equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition Qualifications High school diploma or GED (technical certification preferred) 3+ years of experience working on diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks Strong knowledge of
DOT/FMCSA
regulations and inspection requirements Experience with diagnostic software and tools CDL (preferred but not required) Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various weather conditions Skills & Competencies Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills Attention to detail and commitment to safety Ability to work independently and as part of a team Time management and ability to prioritize tasks Good communication skills Work Schedule Monday through Friday Some Saturdays may be required Hours may vary based on fleet needs and emergency repairs On-call availability may be requiredSimilar remote jobs
