We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to support our trash and recycling operations by maintaining and repairing our fleet of refuse, roll-off, and support vehicles. Non-CDL Mechanic - Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on refuse trucks, roll-off trucks, trailers, and support equipment Conduct preventive maintenance inspections (PMs) to ensure fleet safety and reliability Assist with brake, suspension, hydraulic, and electrical system repairs under supervision Diagnose mechanical issues using basic diagnostic tools and manufacturer guidelines Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records Ensure work is completed in compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards Keep shop and work areas clean, organized, and safe Support CDL Mechanics and technicians with larger repairs as needed Report equipment issues promptly to supervisors CDL Mechanic Technician - Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy-duty diesel vehicles including refuse and recycling trucks Perform advanced repairs on engines, transmissions, hydraulics, braking systems, steering, suspension, and electrical systems Conduct DOT inspections and ensure vehicles meet all federal, state, and local regulations Perform road tests to verify repairs and safe operation Use advanced diagnostic software and tools to identify and resolve mechanical issues Oversee preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime Mentor and assist Non-CDL Mechanics and entry-level technicians Maintain detailed service documentation and inspection reports Communicate repair needs and timelines with maintenance leadership Follow all safety, environmental, and compliance procedures
