Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Mechanic Service Technician and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including industrial machinery, farm equipment, and commercial vehicles. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and air brake systems using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, alignments, and preventive inspections on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery. Fabricate parts or components as needed using power tools and welding techniques to ensure proper fit and function. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform soldering or wiring repairs to resolve complex issues efficiently. Operate heavy equipment safely during repair procedures or testing phases to verify repairs meet operational standards. Maintain detailed service records, update maintenance logs, and ensure all work complies with OEM specifications. Assist customers by providing expert advice on vehicle maintenance needs and repair timelines while delivering excellent customer service. Experience Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair, automotive diagnostics, or heavy equipment maintenance. Dealership experience highly preferred for familiarity with OEM parts and schematics. Hands-on experience working with farm machinery, industrial equipment, or construction machinery such as excavators or cranes. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, assembly, and use of hand tools or power tools. Knowledge of electrical systems related to heavy equipment operation including troubleshooting electrical failures. Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes accurately. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to perform heavy lifting safely is essential.
