WORK SCHEDULES
: All positions at Baptist Village, Inc. include holidays and weekends as they fall within your schedule. Additional worked hours may be needed as workload demands.
QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted Ability to squat and bend Manual dexterity when handling equipment and supplies Visual and hearing acuity to properly communicate Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Excellent sensory perception; ability to distinguish differences in taste, smell, vision, and hearing to evaluate the quality of food.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those the employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or corrosive chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is inside (may be required to go outside occasionally). Floors may be slippery, non-slip shoes required. All work in the kitchen must be performed with appropriate hair restraint. As required by OSHA an exposure evaluation has been done based upon a reasonably anticipated contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials that may result from the performance of employee duties. Based on the evaluation Dietary Aide has a Medium Risk for exposure.

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, AND WORK AIDS
: Commercial kitchen equipment/supplies (not all-inclusive), i.e. stove, oven, steamer, dish machine, fryer, supportive equipment, and other equipment, as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: Serve food to patients/residents/staff/guests accurately and according to correct procedures. Includes appropriate and adequate functioning on the tray line. Collect and display foods and beverages for serving. Handle, store, and provide food and supplies following safe food handling practices to prevent food-borne illness. Follow HACCP procedures. Prepare food in accordance with planned menus, standardized recipes, and special diet orders. Assist in food preparation for special functions, as directed. Set up meal trays, food cans, and/or dining rooms for patient/resident meals according to established policies and procedures.
BAPTIST VILLAGE RETIREMENT COMMUNITIES
Assist Cook in preparing meals, as directed. Distribute and collect menus per department policy. Deliver food carts, meal trays, snacks, nourishment, etc. to designated areas. Remove soiled food trays from carts, dining rooms, etc. and take to dishwashing area. Perform dishwashing/cleaning procedures as directed. Assist with the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Follow established safety, security, and sanitation practices. Follow established Infection Control and Universal Precautions when performing daily tasks. Assist with daily scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures, as directed by the Unit Director. Receive and appropriately respond to oral and written communications and directions. Work with the facility's clinical staff as necessary and implement changes as required. Ensure that all food service policies and procedures are followed. Develop and maintain a good working rapport with all food service personnel, as well as with other departments and patients/residents within the facility, to assure that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the patients/residents. Create and maintain an atmosphere of goodwill and a positive attitude throughout the department and facility. Maintain professional behavior. Participate/assist with departmental projects, as assigned. Attend and participate in in-service training programs within the department and facility. Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent patient/resident care information to assure patient/resident rights are protected. Identify customer requirements, seek customer feedback, and meet customer expectations on a timely basis. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The associate is authorized to have very limited access to resident health information as needed to provide treatment, for billing purposes or the purpose of healthcare operations. Report to the shift supervisor at the end of shift for department check-off. The above is intended to describe the general content of the requirements for the performance of the job.
