Job Description
Job Summary Join our dedicated dietary team as a Dietary Aide/Cook, where your culinary skills and passion for nourishing others will make a meaningful difference. In this vital role, you will assist in preparing and serving nutritious meals in assisted living settings. Your energy and attention to detail will ensure residents and patients receive high-quality food service that promotes health, safety, and satisfaction. This position offers an engaging environment where teamwork, food safety, and compassionate service are at the forefront of every day. Duties Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines, menus, and safety standards, ensuring timely and appealing food presentation Assist with food production, including chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients for various dishes Serve meals to residents or patients with friendly customer service, ensuring their dietary preferences and restrictions are respected Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, dining areas, and food preparation surfaces in compliance with health regulations Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination or spoilage Support the dietary department by bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and assisting with general kitchen sanitation tasks Manage time effectively to meet meal schedules while maintaining high standards of quality and safety Experience Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred Demonstrated culinary experience with knowledge of food preparation techniques and meal presentation Familiarity with food safety protocols and sanitation practices in a professional kitchen setting Experience in dietary aide roles or food service positions that involve serving residents or patients is advantageous Strong time management skills to coordinate meal prep and service efficiently while adhering to safety standards Knowledge of dietetics principles related to special diets or nutritional requirements for vulnerable populations This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to bring their culinary talents into a caring environment.
