Job Description

Overview Monday - Friday 3pm - 7pm We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dietary Cook/Aide to join our culinary team in a nursing home setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious and appealing meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents. This role requires a strong understanding of food safety practices and the ability to work collaboratively within the dietary department to ensure high-quality food service. Duties Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines. Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety standards, including proper sanitation practices. Assist in menu planning and meal preparation that caters to the specific nutritional needs of residents. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including sanitizing work areas and equipment. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient food service operations. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed. Provide support during meal service, ensuring that all residents receive their meals in a timely manner. Requirements Proven experience in meal preparation and cooking, preferably within a nursing home or similar environment. Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices is essential. Strong culinary skills with the ability to prepare a variety of dishes that meet dietary restrictions. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A passion for helping others through quality food service and nutrition. Flexibility to adapt to changing menus and resident preferences is a plus.
