Dietary Cook Lindsay, OK 73052
Full-time Full-time Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Dietary Manager each cook is responsible for implementing and preparing the meal plans for patients as designed by the Dietitian/Dietary Manager. Maintains the efficient operations of the kitchen and hospital cafeteria.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Reviews menus for upcoming meals. 2. Person in charge in absence of Dietary Manager. 3. Prepares and cooks meals in accordance with standards of food preparation and applicable state regulations pertaining to food service. 4. Prepares baked goods and desserts. 5. Maintains the efficient operations of the kitchen and cafeteria. 6. Monitors and documents equipment temperature and sanitizer level. Contacts Facilities Management staff to respond to equipment failures. 7. Prepare and serve meal trays. 8. Maintains cleanliness standards as defined by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. 9. Serve as cashier as needed for collection of meal payments. 10. Adapts to changing environment; e.g., staffing patterns, assignments, etc. 11. Adheres to attendance and dependability standards. 12. Promotes and maintains a positive image of the department. 13. Compliance to the facility wide dress code. 14. Performs other duties that may be assigned by the Dietary Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training:
High School Graduate or GED.
Skills:
Maintains a high degree of credibility, independence, integrity, confidentiality and trust. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.
Physical Effort:
Work requires frequent sitting and typing. Work requires occasional walking, stooping/bending, climbing, driving and lifting up to 25 lbs. Works primarily at a desk.
