We're hiring a Dietary Cook to prepare tasty, safe, and diet-appropriate meals for our residents. You'll follow menus and recipes, support special diets, and help keep our kitchen running smoothly. What You'll Do Prepare and cook hot/cold menu items using standardized recipes; taste-test and adjust for quality; time production to meet scheduled meal service (manage late trays/nourishments). Trayline & service: portion and plate per diet cards (textures, allergies, preferences); deliver carts and provide dining-room service as needed; verify tray accuracy.
Diet orders:
process new diet orders/changes and update tray cards when required; record approved menu substitutions; garnish appropriately and use leftovers safely per policy. Maintain sanitation & safety (HACCP): temperature logs, labeling/date-marking, FIFO, safe equipment use, and rotating deep cleans; report hazards/defective equipment promptly. Receiving & storage: date/label and store deliveries; keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant. Follow infection-control procedures; report infectious/communicable illness to the CDM per policy; attend required meetings/in-services and uphold all policies, HIPAA, and professional standards. What You Bring High school diploma/GED preferred Ability to read/follow recipes, diet cards, and production sheets; basic knowledge of modified diets (purée, mechanical soft, thickened liquids) Safe knife/equipment skills; able to work around heat/cold and wet floors using PPE Stand/walk most of the shift; lift 20-25 lbs frequently (up to 50-60 lbs occasionally) Team-first mindset and professional communication with residents and staff Food Handler/Sanitation certification as required by Texas/local regulations (or willingness to obtain) Meets all health/employment requirements (background, drug screen, TB/clearances); maintains HIPAA confidentiality Schedule & Status 8-hour shifts | In person (Liberty, TX) Weekend/holiday availability may be required Why You'll Love Working Here Friendly, professional team with on-the-spot interviews for qualified candidates Growth and advancement opportunities within Dietary and across the center Competitive pay; benefits eligibility varies by status (medical/dental/vision, 401(k), PTO, life insurance, tuition support) Apply Today Send your resume and shift availability to join Liberty Health Care Center.
