Dir Nursing Unit, Marshall Medical Centers South, Surgery, Full time, 1st Shift

Overview The following statements reflect the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements, which may be inherent in the position. A registered nurse who works with the System Director of Surgical Services to provide overall strategic and operational leadership for the Department of Surgery. This position is over preadmission testing, PRE/POST OP, OR, PACU and Outpatient infusions. They will be reporting to the System Director of Surgical Services. Qualifications Education / Licensure /

Professional Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure by the Alabama State Board of Nursing.
• Minimum of 4 years RN experience, preferably in the surgical/Perioperative area. Management experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate others.
• Excellent physician relationship skills and the ability to work collegially with other professionals to meet common objectives.
• Experience in the process of creating operational excellence in an organization.
