Job Description

As a member of the management team responsible for the Primary Care Service line, reports to the Administrative Director of Primary Care and Public Health. This role is responsible for the strategic development, operational oversight, and financial performance of assigned practices within the medical group. In a dyad partnership with physician leaders, the Director ensures seamless, high-quality care while aligning with Augusta Health's mission, vision, and goals. The Director is responsible for ensuring optimal patient access, provider engagement, and practice efficiency, while driving service line growth and financial sustainability. This role fosters a collaborative, team-oriented environment, ensuring alignment with corporate values, clinical excellence, and patient-centered care.
Education:
Bachelor's degree required Master's degree in healthcare, public health, business administration, or related field required preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Lean Six Sigma or other performance improvement certification preferred
Experience:
Healthcare experience Minimum of 5 years of management and job-related experience in a physician practice or ambulatory care setting within a hospital system required.
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Possesses a broad systems view, ability to communicate effectively to all levels of staff to coach/teach/mentor, to identify areas of needed growth and development, and to bring resources together to accomplish goals. Ability to implement projects effectively across multiple entities on budget. Demonstrated management and leadership competencies from holding previous roles which include managing people, strategic planning, demonstrating data driven outcomes and improvement. Proven leadership experience in managing a clinical outpatient environment with the ability to effect change and negotiate and/or sell ideas. Successful record in directing staff, developing leadership, and shaping a customer service culture. Effective, dynamic communicator (written/verbal). Adept at public speaking and making persuasive presentations. Ability to facilitate group problem solving discussions. In-depth knowledge of performance improvement and process redesign in physician practice operations including utilization of key performance and outcome indicators and business process improvement models. Demonstrated critical thinking, process improvement skills, and independent judgment and business acumen in order to facilitate needed change. Demonstrated statistical and financial analysis skills. Ability to collect, analyze and apply complex data and other pertinent information to develop short-and long- term physician practice goals and budget needs. Ability to perform complex financial forecasting, create tools to aid strategy and planning processes and performance analytics. Demonstrated ability to work on a collegial level with physicians, physician leaders, and executive teams. Demonstrated supervisory and mentoring skills. Proficient at an advanced level in computer skills (i.e. MS Word, Access, Excel).
