Job Description

Primary Purpose Provide direct care and supervision to youth according to the foundation's policies and procedures, licensing and accreditation requirements. Essential Duties •Supervise activities for residents that will increase their cultural awareness and enhance their self-esteem; Work with the Lead Direct Care Counselor to oversee residents in their day to day routines in the house; Assist in the delivery of services, and activities for the residents in the program; Review and summarize miscellaneous reports and documents; Prepare documents and reports as necessary. Other Duties Other duties as assigned by Program Director or direct supervisor. Work Hours On call as needed and determined by the supervisor; Position requires regular and predictable attendance; Some events on evenings or weekends at various times. Working Conditions Office setting; Travel in program and/or personal vehicle to and from program sites. Equipment Use Program vehicle, computer and/or lap top, printer, scanner, copier, fax machine, office and/or work cell phone/Bluetooth, paper cutter, nametag maker, voice recorder, speaker system, video and camera equipment, microwave, ice machine, and stove.
Mental, Physical, and Communication Demands Mental:
Consistent adherence to the practice of PIDF's five core values that are used as a guiding force in the success of all of its programs; Be keenly aware of and attentive to program participants; Must analyze and problem solve issues; Must be able to multi-task and prioritize; Must possess strong interpersonal skills; Must be able to cope with stress that may be induced by the situations of our clients.
Physical:
Must participate in strenuous activities which may include loading/unloading of equipmentsand washing of vans; Must be able to redirect and restrain if resident poses danger to self and/or others; Requires lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds on a regular basis; Must be able to sit and work on floor; kneel and bend.
Communication:
Must exhibit courteous and professional demeanor towards program participants, staff and administration via verbal, written, physical, and electronic correspondence; Requires good oral and written communication skills; Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Minimum Qualification Requirements High school diploma, or equivalent, and experience working with youth required; AA or BA degree in social work or related field preferred; Must have a valid driver's license, a safe and responsible driving record; Must participate in Child Abuse and Neglect, State criminal and FBI criminal clearances, and subsequently meet DHS standards regarding these clearances; Must have current CPR/First Aid certification that will be updated annually; Must have current Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification that will be updated annually; Must have current TB test completed that will be updated annually; Must pass a physical examination requirement. •All applicants are advised that post conditional offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted, and they must successfully pass the drug test. Failure to submit to testing within the specified deadline or positive indications of drug use will render the applicant ineligible for employment with Partners in Development Foundation and any employment offer will be withdrawn.
