Job Description

Company Overview Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch (TCAR) is a therapeutic boarding school dedicated to helping troubled teenage boys overcome behavioral challenges through a Christ-centered approach. Our mission is to transform lives by fostering a loving environment that encourages personal growth and spiritual development.
Summary :
Looking for very active and fit males to lead our boys into the wilderness on hikes, camping trips, canoe trips, float trips, all of thee above! We need males who love the Lord and love the good outdoors! Trips last for several days at a time and we have one spot available for someone to lead our residents.
Details:
Supervision of Direct Care Activities/Client Care. Implement and support the client therapeutic/discipleship progress. Takes into consideration the unique needs of the TCAR client population. Plan and supervise the daily ministry, recreational, discipleship, Outdoor Adventure activities and ADL (Activities for Daily Living) in accordance with program philosophy of intervention and which support healthy client functioning and which support client treatment goals. Apply disciplinary procedures and general behavioral management. Focusing on helping clients learn to manage their own behavior. Coordinate with other departments (e.g. Academics, Clinical) to provide a holistic, well-rounded, integrated program for clients. Assure that TCAR Policy and Procedures are up to date and effectively implemented with regard to the Direct Care department activities. Stay current and complete all assigned annual training which include but are not limited to: Specific needs of persons served. Identifying of risk factors such as suicide, violence, and other risky behaviors. Crisis management, de-escalation, and nonviolent practices. Basic paraprofessional intervention techniques/skills. Person-centered intervention and evidence-based practices. Discipleship Training. Oversee, Implement and instruct comprehensive discipleship training program for clients in assigned Hall. Maintain a Christ-centered, Holy Spirit dependent, ministry atmosphere in assigned client Hall. Making sure the assigned client Hall aligns with the philosophy of ministry outlined in TCAR policy and procedures. Provide effective discipleship when ministering to clients. Staff should be capable of and empowered to: Lead students to Christ. Conduct Bible Studies. Provide spiritual leadership to residents while also continually encouraging residents toward personal growth. Minister to students as opportunity arises and/or during scheduled sessions.

At times, staff members may be called upon to serve in areas not necessarily outlined in their formal job description.
Outdoor Adventure/Intake Leader Responsibilities:
Lead weekly Outdoor Adventure trips and activities for clients which may include: Hall Trip planning and packing (Camping/Hiking). New student intake preparation and trip planning. Keeping an accurate inventory of client supplies. Stay current with all trainings that directly apply to the safety of the OA activities which may include but is not limited to: Life guard training. Risk Management training. Challenge Course low/high ropes facilitation. First Aid and CPR. Plan and lead daily Bible Study/Chapel. Oversee discipline and reward system for all OA activities and trips. Complete daily logging/reporting for all assigned periods, activities and incidents. Plan and foster a challenging and therapeutic atmosphere for all OA activities.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED, College Degree Preferred. 30 hours of training in childcare or related field (Provided by Teen Challenge). Maintain First Aid and CPR certification (Certification training provided by Teen Challenge). Be trained in Crisis Intervention at least biannually (Provided by Teen Challenge). Valid Driver's License. Must be at least 21 years of age. Mature and Godly character. Must meet the requirements of the Arkansas department of human services for residential care staff - All applicants will be background checked.
Salary Agreement:
TBA, Based on experience, education, and qualifications. Medical Benefits. 75% of continuing education expenses up to $5,000 per year.
