Direct Care Worker Richard Thomas - Canton, MA 02021 Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Care Worker and become a vital part of providing compassionate, personalized care to one individual with diverse needs. In this energetic role, you will support one resident in his daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment. Responsibilities Assist individual with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability Assist in medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols under supervision or as trained Support individual with memory care needs, to promote safety and comfort Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area Provide companionship and social support to foster engagement and emotional well-being Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and common spaces Document care activities accurately using systems and report any changes in individual's conditions promptly Support transportation needs by driving individual to appointments or community activities when required Implement behavior management techniques to assist individual with disabilities or behavioral challenges effectively Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly desirable Knowledge of first aid procedures and CPR certification preferred Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is beneficial Ability to perform personal care tasks with compassion and professionalism Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, individual, and family members Valid driver's license for driving responsibilities if applicable Familiarity with documentation processes Physical ability to lift or assist residents using equipment like Hoyer lifts; stamina for standing and walking throughout shifts Commitment to providing respectful, person-centered care that promotes dignity and independence Join us in creating a supportive environment where every individual receives the attentive care they deserve.
